Peppermint Technology’s ESG activities - featured in investor Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) report

Report published in Scottish Equity Partners (SEP)

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria have become crucial in shaping the future of businesses and investments. As global concerns around climate change and corporate ethics rise, companies are increasingly evaluating their operating processes, financial performance and environmental impact in line with ESG principles. This is not just a trend, but a significant shift in the corporate landscape that all businesses need to acknowledge and plan for.

Peppermint Technology is proud to have been featured in the Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) Responsible Investment Report 2024 as one of their portfolio businesses committed to scaling sustainably. By adhering to ESG principles, Peppermint demonstrates our commitment to strong governance processes and sustainability, reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to the well-being of our people and communities.

This commitment is not just a standalone initiative, but an integral part of Peppermint’s business strategy, aligning our operations with our values and the needs of our stakeholders - a commitment we’re proud to share with our investors SEP.

Regarding the environmental aspect of ESG, Peppermint is deeply invested in reducing our carbon footprint through innovative practices incorporated into how our solutions are developed, hosted and supported to ensure a positive environmental impact.

The business is also intensely focused on our Net Zero Journey. On this point, Gary Young, CEO of Peppermint, shares “I am proud to sponsor Peppermint's Environment & Sustainability team, which focuses on advancing our practices to support our sustainability and wider environmental policies. We are delighted to be working with an environmental sustainability partner in the coming months to establish our decarbonisation strategy.”

In terms of social initiatives, Peppermint’s Chief People Officer Emily Farrow comments "Our voluntary wellbeing and community champions teams are critical in supporting Peppermint's community engagement through events and fundraising."

Peppermint is actively raising money and donate to charities like Framework, Cancer Research, Alopecia UK, and Guide Dogs, among many others. We also recognise the importance of our people, promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality through programs such as our “Value Champion Recognition”, mental health first aiders, and various company events that bring our team together to celebrate our achievements and learn from each other.

Governance, the third pillar of ESG, aligns Peppermint’s business operations with our values. Our software is built on Microsoft’s Power Platform, which results in robust encryption, access controls, and data anonymisation techniques across our solutions, all of which assist in managing risk and security. Additionally, Peppermint holds ISO 27001 & 9001 certificates, accreditations that reflect our commitment to robust security and process controls.
